Waive fees for permits on government owned properties

The Thai Cabinet on November 2,2010 agreed to waive fees for permits for foreign film makers to shoot productions on government owned properties (not includeing any deposits that need to be placed). These properties include: 1) the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department; 2) the Royal Forest Department; 3) the Royal Irrigation Department; 4) the Fine Arts Department; 5) the Treasury Department; 6) the State Railway of Thailand; and 7) Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

Thailand Production Services Industry Continues to Grow

Thailand earned Bt1.8 billion (US$60 million) from foreign film production teams shooting in the country last year, according the Department of Tourism.
Department of Tourism Director-General Supol Sripan announced January 4 2011, statistics of the Thailand Film Office showed that 578 productions were filmed in Thailand in 2010, earning the country Bt1.87 billion baht ($60 million) in 2010, double the more than Bt900 million ($30 million) earned in 2009.
